Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Why does BitQuit need Screen Time access?

BitQuit uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to shield only the activities you choose, run schedules and allowances, and display private usage reports. Apple provides privacy-preserving selection tokens, so BitQuit does not learn the names of the apps or websites you select.

Why didn’t Automatic Guard activate while BitQuit was closed?

iOS does not provide third-party apps with continuous background battery-level events. BitQuit evaluates your battery while it is open and whenever it becomes active. Daily schedules and usage allowances use Apple’s Device Activity framework and can operate while BitQuit is closed.

Why is Usage Insights taking time to load?

Apple prepares Screen Time reports in a protected system extension. Keep BitQuit open briefly, confirm Screen Time authorization is approved, and make sure at least one activity is selected. If the report remains unavailable, open Settings → System Health in BitQuit and follow its guidance.

How do I stop a shield?

Open BitQuit and use Remove Manual for a manual shield, disable the relevant schedule or allowance in Settings, or deactivate the active Protection Profile. If a Quit Passcode is enabled, unlock the protected controls first.

Can the Quit Passcode prevent deleting BitQuit?

No. The Quit Passcode protects controls inside BitQuit. iOS still allows the device owner to delete the app or revoke Screen Time access in iPhone or iPad Settings.

How do I restore BitQuit Premium?

Open BitQuit Premium and choose Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account that originally purchased Premium. BitQuit Premium is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, not a subscription.

How do I reset the app?

You can clear protected selections and turn off protection features inside BitQuit. Deleting and reinstalling the app removes app-managed local data according to iOS behavior, but you may need to approve Screen Time access again and restore Premium afterward.
